Term Ends: June 30, 2022

Suzanne joined the Board of Education because she believes in setting policies that support the growth and development of all children.

In 2012, she retired from a 36-year teaching career in the Kingston City School District after serving at 8 schools.

As a faculty member, Suzanne served as a Kingston Teachers Federation representative, a Vice President, and Grievance Chairman, a member of the Facilities committee, the Special Facilities Committee; Special Education reorganization; curriculum assessment; Adelphi Project (drug prevention); suicide prevention; Trustee of Kingston Trust Fund, and long time member of the Mental Health in Ulster County Board of Directors.

"If I could achieve any one educational accomplishment while serving as a Board of Education member, it would be to ensure all staff are trained in a 'mental health first aid program'," said Suzanne.

She decided to run for Board in order to:
-advocate for students to receive a high quality education
-ensure programs are evaluated by staff and administration, and support changes that improve instruction
-advocate for the inclusion of mental health education for both professional staff and students

Current board committee involvement includes Facilities Committee, Policy Committee, Teaching and Learning Committee, Jefferson Committee, Kingston Parent Group, and Chair of the Legislative Action Committee.
