OCIAA 2021-22 Senior Scholar Athletes
Congratulations to our two OCIAA Senior Scholar Athlete Award winners!
The Orange County Inter-scholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Senior Scholar Athlete Award is given to a girl and boy in each member school. The four guidelines for selection are: top 20% class ranking, participation in at least one varsity sport, an above average athlete, and outstanding citizenship.
KARA HOUSTON
GPA: 101.47 Class Rank: 13
Varsity Sports: Field Hockey, Lacrosse
Academic Honors/Extracurricular Activities: National Honor Society, Highest Honor Roll, Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), School Newspaper
Athletic Honors: Field Hockey All-Star Team - Teams 2 & 3, Varsity Letters ~ 4 for Field Hockey and 3 for Lacrosse
Community Service: Foster dogs, started a dog rescue in Tobagio, which is a non-profit
Future Plans: University of Rochester to major in Chemical Engineering, ARMY ROTC white and playing Field Hockey

GPA: 100.72 Class Rank: 20
Varsity Sports: Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse
Academic Honors/Extracurricular Activities: National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society
Athletic Honors: Soccer Captain, Senior All-Star game for Soccer, Varsity Letters
Community Service: Peoples Place, Fundraiser for KHS Sports at Santa Fe Uptown
Future Plans: SUNY Ulster to earn an Associates Degree in one semester to major in Science and play Soccer then heading to Albany School of Pharmacy.
