NYSPHSAA and Governor Cuomo have given permission for low and medium impact winter sports to take place starting 11/30. Therefore, Dr. Padalino and I have decided that we will be offering Varsity Indoor Track, Varsity Boys & Girls Bowling, Varsity Boys Swimming & Diving, Varsity Gymnastics, and Varsity Alpine Skiing as the only sports, at this point, that we will be offering this winter. All other winter sports are on hold until further notice. Please continue to register, get school physicals, and health updates for an 11/30 start date. Any questions contact the Athletic Office. 845-943-3737

This info is for Athletes grades 7-12 during the school year 2020/21;
Our athletic governing body (NYSPHSAA) has granted permission for any student athlete that is receiving remote only education during this school year due to Covid-19, to participate on Modified, JV or Varsity teams.
As long as a student is registered for school here in Kingston City Schools, is taking three (3) courses and physical education, regardless of the education platform utilized (remote only, hybrid), that student/athlete is eligible for interscholastic athletics.
As of today, August 10,2020, interscholastic athletics Fall sports season is scheduled to begin pre-season practices on Monday September 21. As information becomes updated, we will post this to all of our student/athletes.
Please call our athletic offices if any questions, 845-943-3736
Kingston Athletic Director
July 21, 2020
This has been an incredibly difficult Spring, Summer and now Fall for our athletes, coaches and parents. New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) has been sending me many updates since March and here is the plan for Kingston CSD as of July 22.
All Fall sports (Modified, JV and Varsity) will be starting practices on Monday September 21. After we reach our minimum number of practices, I have set up local league games with our opponents, limiting our travel. There will be no Varsity post season, regional's or State championships this Fall. If we are permitted to have "open gyms" before September 21, you will hear from me and our coaches, but please do not organize any form of captains practices or workouts until you hear from my office.
If we are unable to start Fall sports on September 21, then the entire Fall season will be moved. Winter sports will start Jan 4-March 13, then Fall sports will take place March 1-May 8 followed by Spring sports April 5-June 12. The dates do overlap and may change a little bit, but we Athletic Directors are working hard to give our athletes and coaches some quality of a school year athletic program.
Feel free to email me, RSilverstein@kingstoncityschools.org with questions or call our offices at 943-3737.
