KCSD Summer Programming Information

This summer, KCSD will offer in-person programs for students in all Grades K-12. Programming at every level will offer both academic and social-emotional benefits. 

K-3 Summer Programs:

Summer programming will include instruction on math, literacy and social-emotional wellness. Instruction will be both academic and fun through the integration of project based learning. All instruction will be in-person and will adhere to all safety measures of social distancing and mask wearing. Summer programming will also include both breakfast and lunch at no charge to families.

Elementary Summer Programs are Monday-Friday, 8:45am-1:30pm.
Session 1 will be held at George Washington Elementary School July 6 - July 23.
Session 2 will be held at Chambers Elementary School July 26 - August 13.

Incoming Grades 5-8 Summer Programs:

In-person summer school at J. Watson Bailey Middle School will take place July 6-July 23rd and then again July 26th-August 13th, Monday-Friday 8:00am – 1:00pm. Transportation is provided and the doors open at 7:50am. Students cannot be dropped off before 7:45am and need to be picked up by 1:00pm. As a reminder, all incoming 5th-8th graders for the 2021-22 school year will be at JWB for summer school.

Academically, there will be a focus on Reading and Math skills. There will also be social-emotional programming offered with the help of Peaceful Guardians, Family of Woodstock and others.

Free Breakfast and Lunch will be provided daily.

KHS Summer Programs - for students entering Grades 9-12:

Kingston High School Summer Programming will be held from Monday, July 6th through Tuesday, August 10th from 8:15am- 1:30pm. School will be in session Monday - Thursday. Transportation will be provided. Doors open at 8:05am. A free lunch and breakfast will be provided daily to all students attending summer school at KHS. Students may also bring their own food and drink. As a reminder, incoming 9th-12th graders for the 2012-22 school year will be at KHS for this summer program.

Academically, all core areas will be covered as well as health, physical education, keyboarding, and language.
These courses will be offered in-person as well as by utilizing our credit recovery program (as we have for many years). Additionally, there will be team-building and social-emotional programming for all 9th and 10th graders and available to 11th and 12th graders.
