GRADUATION WEEK EVENTS

 

ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL WALKS 

Monday, June 24

Seniors return to their elementary and/or middle schools and walk halls lined with the current population of students. It gives the younger students a new perspective and a chance for seniors to reminisce. Seniors should wear cap and gown.

Please note: Sophie Finn alumni are welcome at Edson; Meagher to Kennedy, Zena to Crosby and Anna Devine to Robert Graves.

 

Senior School Walk Schedule:

Chambers, Crosby, JFK and Myer  9:05AM

Edson, Graves and GW  9:30AM

JWB and MCM  10:30AM 

 

BACCALAUREATE

Monday, June 24 6:00 PM Congregation Emanuel of the Hudson Valley 243 Albany Avenue  Kingston, NY

 This event is organized through the local clergy for students who choose to participate in a spiritual exercise to conclude their high school education. Students must wear their cap and gown and arrive at 5:45 PM to line up for the procession.  A dessert reception will follow.

  

GRADUATION REHEARSAL

Friday, June 28 – J. Watson Bailey School Auditorium – 9:00-11:00 AM

Student attendance is mandatory. Any student who does not attend will be excluded from the graduation ceremony. If a family emergency prevents attendance, parents must contact Ms. Sellitti’s office at 943- 3708 by Thursday, June 27.

Do not wear or bring your cap and gown to rehearsal. 

 

CLASS OF 2019 GRADUATION

Friday, June 28 – Dietz Stadium - 5:00 pm 

Students are to report to J. Watson Bailey School for lineup at 4:00 pm. Proper attire is mandatory. Sneakers, jeans, shorts, and flip flops are not permitted. Boys must wear ties, socks, and dress shoes along with dress shirts and dress slacks. Girls must wear dresses or skirts and blouses, or dress slacks with flat dress shoes. High or pointed heel shoes are not allowed on the artificial turf at Dietz. It is also difficult to walk down the wooded trail from JWB in such shoes.

Students who do not follow our dress code or who display any type of inappropriate behavior will not be permitted to participate and can receive their diploma at Kingston High School’s Main Office on Monday, July 1. Please remind your son or daughter that while graduation is a joyful occasion, it is also a time for tradition, dignity, and pride.

Any diploma not picked up at graduation will be held in the Guidance Office for the Class of 2019. Please contact Mrs. Sexton at 943-3723 to arrange for pick up.
