Innovative and stunning!
The KHS Science Olympiad team has won a place to compete at the NYS Tournament!
A team of fifteen KHS students participated at the Mid-Hudson Regional Science Olympiad competition on March 20, and placed 5th out of 27 participating teams.
Science Olympiad tournaments are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of team events, which students prepare for throughout the school year.
These challenging and motivational events are well balanced between various science disciplines including Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics and Technology.
Competing in 15 different events, the KHS team won first place in three areas:
Ali Mitchell and Luke Studt in Chemistry Lab
Julie Chen and Jason Chen in Circuit Lab
Jade Williams and Luke Studt in Geologic Mapping
Mary Zou, Julie Chen, and Luke Studt came in close second in Codebusters.
Peter Dong and Jerry Chen earned a third place finish in Astronomy
