KCSD Will Start 2020-21 School Year Virtually
On Friday, August 14, 2020 the Kingston City School District Board of Education met to discuss the start of the 2020-21 school year and made the difficult decision to begin the school year with all students (PreK-12) working from a Remote Learning Plan for the first 5 weeks, beginning on Tuesday, September 8th.
While we understand there is nothing that can take the place of a teacher standing in a classroom with their students, this is the best decision for the health of our students, staff and families.
The District will use these five weeks to conduct thorough training of our faculty and staff, obtain all of the necessary PPE and strengthen our safety and cleaning protocols.
We realize that this decision will put some families in a difficult position, and we plan to open with our Hybrid Reopening Model as soon as it is safe to do so.
The complete Remote Learning Plan will be posted on the district website by August 21st. Please continue to check our website for more information and updates and look for a Technology Needs Questionnaire coming out in the next week.
Please remember to join us for our next Town Hall Events. More information and links can be found on our website.
Thank you for your continued support in the safe education of our children.
Stay safe and be well.
