KCSD Board of Education Adopts Anti-Racism Resolution

The Kingston City School District Board of Education has created a new board resolution regarding anti-racism – Resolution 2019 BOE77 – that was adopted at the June 19, 2020 Board of Education meeting.

The resolution states the Kingston City School District will honor individuals our country and communities have lost to police brutality “by faithfully serving our communities of color and standing against all the impediments of prejudice and racism.”

It also goes on to state that, “we pledge to explore ways to ensure and increase equity in the Kingston City School District and will use all our means towards creating truly inclusive environments.”

KCSD has made efforts over the years towards equity and inclusivity for all students and this resolution, made as a full team effort with every board trustee and Superintendent Padalino, solidifies that the district will continue those efforts to eliminate racial disproportionality and support initiatives to end systemic racism and provide equity in everything the district does for its students and families.
