Folk Dancing, Family and A Lot of Fun!

Edson Elementary School hosted its Fall Family Folk Dance Night on October 23rd. Dances of the evening included New England-style, traditional Russian-style and Southern United States-style folk dancing, which are designed for people of all ages to enjoy and learn together as a community.

“Folk dancing provides a wonderful opportunity to build a bridge from the school to the home and connect to the community in a meaningful and musical way,” said Mr. Jacob Hefele, Edson Music Teacher. “It provides families with an opportunity to share an evening together free of distractions and provides our students time to play with their families in a joyful, exuberant, competition-free setting. It is a win-win-win situation!”

Edson will host another Folk Dance in March with LIVE music played by Kingston High School students.
