KCSD Honors Outgoing BOE President

At the August 7, 2019 Kingston City School District Board of Education meeting, outgoing President Nora Scherer was honored for her five years of service as BOE President.  Mrs. Scherer was recognized with an engraved clock, the gavel and block she used throughout her presidency, a bouquet of flowers and a board resolution thanking her for her years of service as president.

After retiring from a 40 year teaching career with the Kingston City School District, Mrs. Scherer was elected to the Board of Education in May of 2011.  She served at Vice President from 2012-2014, followed by her presidency from 2014-2019.  Mrs. Scherer remains on the board, continuing her service to the KCSD community as a trustee.

When presented with her gifts, Mrs. Scherer gave her thanks, saying it has been a pleasure to serve as president, but could not have done it without the support of a wonderful team.   "I would like to thank Dr. Padalino, a visionary superintendent, my fellow trustees, the KCSD central administrators and staff, all of our building administrators, the KCSD faculty and staff, our students, their families and many other community members for making this experience so rewarding.  It is an honor and a privilege to serve in a community that values education the way that Kingston does."

Thank you, Nora, for your commitment and dedication to our students and KCSD Community.
