Edson Fourth Graders Meet US Army Veteran

With Veterans Day approaching, Edson Elementary School celebrates and recognizes those who have served the country. On November 7, 2018, Edson fourth graders enjoyed a special presentation by US Army Veteran, Specialist Christopher McHugh. The students filed into the room to find Mr. McHugh in his fatigues, ready to tell them about his experiences and life in the field. The Recon Specialist captivated the students with his personal stories and showing them different Army devices, gear and photos. He talked about basic training, military drills, vehicles he drove, why he joined the Army, and why Veterans Day is celebrated. Students were impressed by Mr. McHugh and all of his interesting items, with one of the most notable interjections after putting on his gas mask – “WHOA!” they exclaimed.

Thank you, Specialist McHugh, and Happy Veterans Day!
