Honors Criteria

KCSD has adjusted the criterion for acceptance into Accelerated and Honors Classes for the 2020-2021 school year. Please click HERE for more information.
The Kingston City School District Honors Program begins in grade 8 with an opportunity for students to take high school level Art or Music, as well as, the accelerated high school level Math and Science curriculum culminating with the Algebra Common Core Regents and the NYS Earth Science Regents. The opportunity to take English and Social Studies honors courses begins in grade 9 with English 9 Honors and Global History 9 Honors.
Students must be recommended for acceptance into the Honors courses using the specific criteria outlined below.
