Kingston City School District Opens Universal Pre-Kindergarten Registration for 2026-2027 School Year

universal prek registration is open

The Kingston City School District (KCSD) is excited to announce open registration for its Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) programs for the upcoming school year.

KCSD sponsors nine UPK programs, including the Meagher Pre-K program, operating five days a week with both full- and half-day options. To be eligible, children must reside within the Kingston district boundary, be 3 or 4 years old on or before December 1, 2026, and be eligible to enter public school Kindergarten in the following school year. Families can select their preferred program site during registration.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. For priority consideration and the best opportunity to secure a preferred program site, families are encouraged to apply by Friday, April 17 in order to participate in the virtual lottery, which will be held on Tuesday, April 21. After the lottery, placements will be made based on any available openings.
