Work performed during Spring Break 2025:

Crawl space abatement at Edson
Removal of 20 classroom ceiling and above ceiling exploration for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing coordination
Select abatement and reconstruction at Bailey to prepare for summer work

Phase 3

Summer 2026 - Summer 2027

George Washington: New parking lot, new walk wat at entry, new secure vestibule, administratie suite renovation, restroom renovations throughout the building, new elevator, auditorium renovation, gymnasium upgrade (ceiling and wall finishes - no flooring), interior door replacement, fire protection system upgrade, mechanical relief fans for all classrooms, new ventilation system for 1st and 2nd floor (classroom, faculty rooms, cafeteria, etc.) for heating and cooling, portable generator connection, transformer update or replacement, new paint throughout the building, AC units
Chambers: Site parking, ADA compliant sidewalks, upgraded site drainage at the playground area, building exterior, new secure vestibule, administrative suite renovation, upgraded fire alarm and public announcement system, improved ventilation at all classrooms, nurse office, administrative office and library, boiler replacement, interior painting, AC units

Phase 4

Summer 2027 - Summer 2028

Meyer: ADA compliance at all surfaces and stairs, ramp at corridor 101, egress stairs, pathway and steps, replace sidewalks, extension on current parking lot, sanitary sewer replacement, parking lot repair, playground update, AC units
Graves: ADA compliance at all surfaces and stairs, repair sink holes, repair concrete landings, repair cracks at sidewalk, replace ramp, concrete ramp, new parent pick up and new bus stacking area, replace canopy and sidewalk, replace drains at soccer fields, AC units
JFK: Kitchen, cafeteria, stage, secure vestibule and administrative suite, new AC in one classroom, doors, fire alarm, replace toilet and lavatory plumbing fixtures, AC units

The Kingston High School (KHS) Second Century Capital Plan was an eight (8) year long project. During the course of the project, the entire KHS campus underwent complete renovations and new construction to create a healthy and safe 21st century learning environment for students. The KHS Main Building was preserved, including the historical façade that has flanked the Midtown Kingston Corridor since the building was first constructed. Upgrades to the campus include the addition of two new wings and upgraded athletic facilities in the Kate Walton Field House.

Other components of the capital project included updates to the infrastructure in nine district buildings. These updates will be completed in a phased approach. This timing has been strategically chosen to coincide with the school break, ensuring minimal disruption to the educational environment.
