How would you complete the following sentence?

If I could achieve any one educational accomplishment while serving as a Board of Education member it would be ……… to support our teachers and administration in getting the resources they need to support all students and families in a thriving district where everyone is welcome and safe and has full access to excellent education!

What do you view as the Board of Education's top priorities?

Our top priority has to be ensuring safe and equitable education for everyone in the KCSD. This means our budget must be a moral document that reflects that commitment. We have to support our teachers in their sacred and extremely challenging work, so they can continue to show up every day for all of our kids – immigrants, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, kids with disabilities – everyone! We need to provide the financial and curricular resources needed for schools to meet every student's needs and we need to create opportunities for direct communication among Board members, students, teachers, and community members so we can better understand what is needed.
