    In accordance with Executive Order No. 202.26 from Governor Cuomo, the Budget Vote and School Board Election will be held remotely, by Absentee Ballot only. Registered voters in the Kingston City School District will receive absentee ballots by mail with return postage-paid envelopes.

    2020-2021 Budget:

    The Kingston City School District Board of Education has adopted a proposed budget in the amount of $187,420,013.00 for the 2020-2021 school year that carries a 1.73% tax levy increase and meets the New York State tax levy limit calculation. It is the goal of the Kingston City School District to design a budget that balances the needs of the students with the needs of the taxpayers. This budget will maintain all academic, extracurricular, athletic, art and music programs as well as AP & College courses, and all high school electives; continue the district’s commitment to smaller class sizes in Grades K-2;  keep all social and emotional, mental health and wellness, and restorative practice support and offerings; continue the district’s commitment to technology.

    On the Ballot:

    Proposition 1 - 2020-21 Budget:
    Shall the Board of Education of the Kingston City School District, Ulster County, New York, be authorized to expend the sums of money which will be required for school district purposes for the 2020-2021 School Year, in the total amount of $187,420,013.00 (the Budget), and to levy the necessary sum against the taxable real property in the School District.

    No other propositions will be on the ballot this year.

    Election of Board of Education Trustees:

    Vote for any three (3). Three (3) members for 3-year terms, from July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023.
