School Safety
The personal safety of our students and employees, as well as of the general public, is a major, and ongoing, concern of the Kingston City School District Board of Education. It is our goal to provide every employee and student with a working and/or learning environment free from recognized hazards that may be potential causes of serious physical harm or impairment.
The district provides safety and security by using a team approach. School Resource Officers, School Security Officers, and School Monitors are present in our schools each day. Our school community–including administrators, principals, teachers, and students–all contribute to safety and security by building upon relationships that are based on respect and understanding.
In addition to personal safety, the security of our facilities is of utmost importance. Districtwide, we have 248 high-definition Cisco security cameras, including 42 exterior cameras. Every building has a Next Generation proximity card and phone system integrated door access, as well as a video phone and buzzer security system for building access.

SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
Day in and day out, ensuring student and staff safety across our 11 schools is “priority one” at Kingston City Schools. Throughout the year, we seek to maintain environments that are secure, clean, healthy, and free of hazards. We provide faculty and staff with training and resources on how to protect themselves and their students. Our curriculum includes lessons for students at all levels on topics such as personal safety and security–physically, environmentally, emotionally, and socially.
