Instructions for eBooks and Audiobooks

  • KHS has TWO resources for eBooks and Audiobooks!

     

    Destiny Discover

    Borrow eBooks and Audiobooks through Destiny Discover!
     
    Library eBooks and audiobooks can be checked out just like a physical book.
    • Check out the books by using any computer, phone, tablet or internet-connected device.
    • Students: Use your Student ID number as both your username and password.
    • Some eBooks have "unlimited access" and can be checked out simultaneously by everyone in the school for the entire school year. Most eBooks and audiobooks have limited copies. eBooks have a checkout period of 14 days. Audiobooks are due in 7 days. Books will be automatically returned on the due date.
    • If you finish a book prior to the due date, please check it in so that another student can access the book.


    *Access Destiny eBooks and Audiobooks:
     

    - Destiny eBooks and Audiobooks can be easily accessed by following the direct link for KHS Destiny eBooks and Audiobooks (also on the library webpage).

    - OR you can download the Destiny Discover app for either IOS and Android at your app store. 

    - You can read eBooks on the Cloud (connected to the internet) or by downloading on your computer or device.

    - Audiobooks can only be downloaded using the Destiny Discover app, but you can listen to them online.

    - Both your username and password are your Student ID Number.

     

    Sora  Sora

    • Library eBooks and audiobooks can be checked out just like a physical book.
    • Check out the books by using any computer, phone, tablet or internet-connected device.
    • Students: Sign in with the same username and password you use to log on to the KHS computers.
    • eBooks and Audiobooks can be checked out for 14 days and may be renewed.
    • If you finish a book prior to the due date, please check it in so that another student can access the book.

     

    *Access Sora eBooks and Audiobooks:
     
    - Sora eBooks and Audiobooks can be easily accessed by following the direct link for KHS Sora eBooks and Audiobooks on the library webpage.

    - You can read the eBooks on the Cloud (connected to the internet) or by downloading the Sora app for offline reading. 

    - Download Sora, by Overdrive from an app store. Find your school (Ulster Boces and Kingston City Schools) and then choose Kingston City Schools.
     
    - Sign in with the same username and password you use to log on to the KHS computers.
     
    - Explore to view and borrow books. See all your books on the Shelf.
     
    - You can link to your public library and access their books using your library card.
