Dear Robert Graves Parents:
I hope everyone is having a great summer. Below is important information and an update on September.
-Our yearbooks came in and pick up will be on July 21st from 2pm to 6pm.
-All 4th grade students get a yearbook
-If you have questions about the yearbook, please email Allyson Whittaker at
2nd Grade Garden Kits-
For all 2nd grade students there are garden kits available from gardener Jen.
They can be picked up Monday July 20th from 9-12 or Tuesday 2-6pm.
School in September-
Today the governor provided clarity on what needs to happen for schools to reopen in September. He stated that the decision will be made based on data, the phase our area is in and the 2-week average of new cases. He stated that specific determinations will be made the first week in August. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available and please be assured my team and I have been working hard to have plans in place to meet the needs of our Robert Graves Students.
Important Message on Teacher Assignments for Next Year
The Kingston City School District is waiting on guidance and recommendations from the school-reopening task force and cannot finalize classroom assignments for the 2020-21 school year at this time. We know that one of the more exciting things at the end of June is to find out who your teacher will be in September. Because we do not have all of the information and do not want to add any confusion to an already challenging time, you will see “TBA” (to be announced) where you would traditionally see your teacher assignment on the Quarter 4 Report Card that will be posted to the Parent Portal. Report cards that will be mailed home will not include next year’s grade or teacher assignment.
You will receive a letter in the mail from your child’s principal by August 15, 2020 regarding the teacher assignment for the 2020-21 school year.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to make this transition in the best interest of our families and students.
