Dear Myer Families,
KCSD students in kindergarten, grade 2, and grade 4 will engage in a presentation with Ms. Foley of the Ulster County Crime Victim's Unit. This presentation is part of Erin's Law, a state law requiring public schools to teach child sexual abuse and exploitation prevention classes to students. We understand that some families may want to discuss these topics with their child beforehand, therefore we wanted to make you aware. Please see below for more information about Ms. Foley's presentation. Both your child's classroom teacher and our psychologist, Mrs. Fontana, or social worker, Ms. Ireland, will be present for the presentation. They will be in attendance so that we can address any follow-up questions. Students will be led through age-appropriate activities, including identifying safe adults at school and at home. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
Erin Nelson
