  • Harry L. Edson Grade 4 Moving Up Celebration
    Tuesday, June 23, 2020

    Dear Parents and Students:
On behalf of the Edson Grade 4 Team, I am sharing the plans for our annual Moving Up Celebration. As you are aware, we will have to do things differently this year; however, we would like to recognize each student and provide them with their moment to shine! Parents will drive their vehicle (with the fourth grader sitting on the passenger side of the vehicle) in a single line through the Edson front driveway. Each child’s vehicle can be followed by one spectator vehicle. From the sidewalk, staff members will cheer the students and display signs of congratulations. When you pull-up to the beginning of the car line-up, a staff member will check you in and give you a piece of paper with your child’s name and teacher name. You will also receive a packet and the Moving Up certificate. As each vehicle pulls up in front of the main entrance, your child will step out of the vehicle and stand at the center of the “mini-bridge” that we use for Moving Up, in front of me and their teacher. He/she can hold their certificate in front of themselves for the picture. Your child can choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask; however, all staff members will be wearing masks. The parent/spectators can take pictures from their vehicle or from standing next to their car door. The vehicle will leave and the next vehicle will pull up.

A staff member will take a picture of each child as well and we will create a slide show to post on the Edson school website, school Facebook and share on the Edson Cougar Announcements Team. If a child cannot attend the vehicle line-up, then we will ask their parent if they can share a picture that we can include in the slide show. Parents have the option ahead of time of opting their child out of the slide show since it will be posted on our Facebook. Students are encouraged to wear their Tie Dye Edson shirts.

Please note that all staff members will follow social distancing and the designated spaces for the principal, teacher and student will be 6 feet or more.

Date: Tuesday, June 23rd/Rain Date Wednesday, June 24th

Times: Grade 4 Students Last Name Starting With A-L 9:00AM-11:00AM

Regards, Mr. Martin, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. McHugh, Mrs. VanValkenburgh, Mrs. Carpenter, Mrs. McFarland and Mrs. Fox
