• On Tuesday, May 7th Edson hosted its first ever Family Folk Dance Night!

Students have been benefiting from the musical, social-emotional, and physical benefits of learning many Folk Dances in Music Class. At the Family Folk Dancing Event, students got to teach their parents how to perform a few of their favorite dances. "We are so happy that so many people were able to make it out," said Jacob Hefele, Music Teacher at Edson.

Staff and Students at Edson Elementary hope to make this a yearly event.

  • Edson welcomed John Arrucci, a professional percussionist, on Tuesday, March 5. Mr. Arrucci gave an assembly entitled "Instruments from Around The World" with workshops in the music room on the Art of Improvisation. During this PTO-sponsored event, students loved getting to work with Mr. Arrucci and were able to focus on teamwork as it relates to music. One first-grade student even said they thought the lesson was about "music and friendship."

Thank you to the PTO and Mr. Arrucci!
