Mrs. deHaan & Ms. Schenker’s ENL Life Science Skills classes spent El Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead -November 1) as a day of culture in class while reviewing the metric system. The students completed a worksheet about the metric system that had a color assigned to each question. They then used the colors to complete a sugar skull picture of their choice. While coloring the class discussed the tradition of El Día de los Muertos and how each country celebrated it & the traditions within person’s family. Anyone who wanted to spoke about the people (or pets in some cases) they were honoring with their picture. The students in these classes are from Guatemala, Venezuela & Mexico.
