Zena Elementary School Together with the teachers, teacher aides, custodians, and other personnel, we provide a complete educational program for our K-5 students. All of us work diligently and cooperatively and are proud of our school. We believe it is our responsibility to provide a social, academic, and productive environment where children can learn and grow. Our motto is “ZENA CARES”. Together with our staff, students, parents, and community, our school is alive with activity and learning. I am very proud of the creativity and commitment from faculty and staff. I believe that our students are productive and eager learners because of the strong support from home and the strong support from school. Together we do make a difference for our children. Zena Building Planning Team (BPT) Our BPT meets to develop a yearly Building Improvement Plan. In addition, we meet monthly to discuss and plan for our yearly goals and ways or actions that will help to improve student academic performance. The team includes parents, teachers, staff, and principal. Our school wide themes for this year are: “OUT OF MANY – ONE”, and “PRESERVE OUR WORLD.” Our Mission Statement Zena School is a community of learners committed to the pursuit of excellence in education and character, recognizing the diversity and differences among children, in order to promote lifelong learning. Zena PTA The Zena School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a non-profit service organization with a goal of connecting home school and community through child advocacy. Those who participate in our PTA share a common goal and interest in quality education for children. Our PTA is in alliance with the New York and National PTA Organization. The PTA activities and participation in a variety of supportive programs offers our students many opportunities to be connected to the school and community. The many members work diligently with faculty and staff to enhance learning through assemblies, the book fairs, special events, and field trips, just to name a few.
