Bailey Students Remember Troops Overseas and Kids at Home

J. Watson Bailey Middle School

Approximately 900 students in grades 6, 7 and 8 attend J. Watson Bailey Middle School.

Our faculty of 82 teachers receives support from two nurses, one psychologist, three guidance counselors, one attendance officer, one social worker, two administrators, one School Resource Officer and 28 teaching assistants as they work to enhance the academic, social and emotional development of our students.

Our educational program is designed to meet the needs of our diverse student population and is based on our motto of “Respect, responsibility, effort and kindness.”

In addition to our curriculum, which encompasses all the New York State mandated courses, we offer high school credits for accelerated 8th graders, an ESL program and a wide range of special education placements.

Our educational program is enriched with field trips and assemblies and is supplemented with a library media center and two computer labs.

Mission Statement

The Bailey School's mission is to provide an atmosphere in which students will develop skills that enable them to become self-directed, responsible and life-long learners and citizens.
