Ernest C. Myer Elementary School Library Media Center

The Myer library is a small, cozy room where many activities take place. Students especially enjoy our puppet collection and the teddy bears that decorate the library. Although students come for weekly scheduled visits, they often drop in for one-on-one reader advisory services.

At Myer, we have always encouraged students to use the library to pursue their own interests. We often help students find information on hobbies, or perhaps identify the frog species someone saw on the way to school. We also see many small groups of students for AIS or activities such as Reader’s Theater.

Because we’re located next to the computer lab, we’re looking forward to growing into a media center over the next few years. This will enable us to expand and improve the support services we offer Myer staff and parents, as well as students. In addition, it will help us strengthen our ties to community resources.

We certainly have a lot to look forward to at the Myer library!
