M. Clifford Miller Middle School Library Media Center

The Library Media Center at Miller Middle School serves a student and staff population of over 1,100.

The Library Media Center is open most periods during the day. On a daily basis, subject classes come to the library to work on projects. Students, individually or in small groups, as well as teachers, come to borrow books and to read and work quietly in the library. Students also come to take tests, work on homework, and to do research. The Library Media Center is a busy area with a variety of activities occurring simultaneously.

Within the Miller Library Media Center, we have a computerized card catalog and circulation system. Students and staff can easily look for books and access information using the computers in the Library Media Center.

An effective collaborative relationship exists at Miller Middle School, between our Library Media Center and students, parents, teachers, and support personnel in trying to meet the learning needs of students.

The three things we are most proud of are:

  • The number of computers students can use for the card catalog and for research.
  • New, pertinent, and varied books on shelves to support 6th, 7th and 8th grade curriculum.
  • The large number of students who come to the Library Media Center with their classes to work on projects and do research.
