The JFK School Library Media Center has a fantastic book collection that supports the Kingston City Schools requirements and the NYS curriculum.
This library especially prides itself with high interest books for both boys and girls. These books can be found in both the fiction and non-fiction sections of the library.
All Magic School Bus books are kept in one area, making it easy for 2nd and 3rd grade students to pick out one of these books of their interest. This is also true of the many other series books the library owns i.e. Magic Tree House, Goosebumps, American Girl, Eyewitness Books, Dear America, etc. I believe this system of presentation helps students choose a book when they are pressed for time or can’t make up their mind while browsing the stacks.
JFK students are also encouraged to browse our very extensive biography section that we consider to be our greatest asset. New biographies are purchased yearly in order to strengthen our character development program and enhance our student’s interest other people.
Though this library media center abounds with technology, video, destination equipment and a fine audio collection our pride lies in our books and the library’s ability to attract students to lifelong love of reading.
