E. R. Crosby Elementary School Library Media Center

At E.R. Crosby School, the library and special area classes are 40 minutes long. This year, we have 21 sections, including four Special Education classes that meet each week.

"Enrichment" blocks are now included in the Library Media Center schedule. This year, a new Literature Circle program has been introduced where six third grade students were chosen to participate and meet once a week in the Library Media Center.

An additional third grade project was introduced where, for approximately one month, small groups came into the Library Media Center once or twice a week to conduct research on their topics.

Recently, second grade students came to the Library Media Center to build a literary "sandwich." This program is based on the students reading a book and then writing about what they had read on pieces of paper that depict the different parts of a sandwich, ie. bread, ham, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, and then they assembled the "sandwich" and placed it into a baggie.
