The Kingston School District of the City of Kingston, New York is charged by the Communities which it encompasses with the most sacred trust of educating its youth.
The Board of Education recognizes the importance of this responsibility, both collectively and individually, and its members continually strive to honor this trust. The educational system, to be effective, must reflect the beliefs of the community. Pedagogical decisions, to be effective, must be made on information substantiated by research and verified by evaluation.
The foundation of all decisions made by the Board of Education in formulating policy for the school district should be a statement of philosophy, a statement of beliefs concerning children which is the basis for all that we do in the schools.
