About Taxes

School tax bills are mailed to the District taxpayers in early September for the fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June 30.

Taxes are due in two equal installments. First installment is due on October 15th and the second is due on December 15th. After December 15th, all delinquent taxes are turned over to the City Treasurer or to the Ulster County Treasurer for those properties located in the towns. The City Treasurer and County Treasurer are then responsible for collection of delinquent taxes, plus interest and penalties.

The Kingston School District includes the entire City of Kingston with an estimated population of 65,000, all or major parts of the Towns of Esopus, Kingston and Ulster, over 60% of the Town of Hurley and small to minor parts of the Towns of Marbleton, New Paltz, Rosendale, Saugerties and Woodstock.
