Physical Education and Athletics Mind, Body and Spirit...", The Joe DeFino Track & Field Meet, fall Tigerball and winter snowshoeing are just some of the wholesome activities available to the students in the Kingston School System. The Physical Education Program features the FITNESS GRAM Comprehensive Health-related Fitness and Activity Assessment System. This system is designed to help students establish physical activity as a part of their daily lives. District Intramural programs supplement physical education classes with the sports experience. Interscholastic Athletics We believe in developing character through athletics for success in life. A strong partnership between coaches, parents and athletes is paramount to developing character. The NYSPHSAA and the Kingston City Schools believes that character is priority #1 in athletics. Developing a quality athletic program includes promoting high standards of character, competence, civility and citizenship. We ask that everyone actively support the 4 C’s as a way of life so that we may foster an atmosphere of sportsmanship on the field of play, in the stands, at home and in the community. Remember student-athletes are students first and then athletes. |
