Robert Hansen Recognized as “Teacher of the Year” at Zena Elementary School

Robert Hansen, a third and fourth grade teacher at Zena Elementary School, was recently honored by Zena parents and a panel of judges from Wal-Mart, as “Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year.” He won a $1,000 donation for the school, as well as a plaque commemorating his accomplishment.

“Every year has new challenges, and with this group of students I am looking forward to creating learning experiences that will help them grow and having fun in the process,” Hansen said. “It is an honor to be recognized by the parents.”

A graduate of Marist College and SUNY New Paltz, Hansen has taught at Zena Elementary School for the past six years. Previous to that, he taught at John F. Kennedy Elementary School for six years.
