Eagle Scout Project by Miller Middle School Student Beautifies Crosby Elementary School Thanks The picnic tables were the Eagle Scout project of former Crosby student Nathaniel Gorman, now a 6th grade student at M. Clifford Miller Middle School. The enterprising student had the idea of building the picnic tables so that students and staff would be able to have lunch outside, and teachers would have the option of holding classes outside in good weather. “The project really taught me a lot and took longer than I had originally thought. I had figured about 220 hours, but by the time I was complete, the total project was over 351 hours,” Nathaniel says. Nathaniel was able to complete the project thanks to the funding of the school’s Parent Teacher Organization. However, he didn’t just accept the donation without doing fundraising of his own. At a recent PTO meeting, Nathaniel donated back $330 that the PTO had given him after obtaining additional funding from local community members and businesses. Kudos Nathaniel!
