| The annual Meet the Candidates Night sponsored by the Districtwide Parents Council takes place from 6:30-9:00pm Tuesday, May 13 in the Miller Middle School auditorium. The forum is moderated by the League of Women Voters of the Mid-Ulster County, and is an opportunity to hear candidates for the Board of Education present their views. |

| Twenty four 7th and 8th grade students who demonstrate the scholarship, leadership and character that typifies a member of the Junior National Honor Society were inducted into the Miller Middle School chapter of this prestigious organization in April. The school's chapter is now 50 fantastic members strong! |

The dinosaurs came to town recently, or at least to George Washington Elementary School, where youngsters fed their insatiable curiosity about extinct herbivorous and carnivorous reptiles and the ancient rock upon which they may have stood.

| District Awarded $350,000 to Implement Montessori Program |
The Kingston City School District received notification of an award of $350,000 from the New York State Education Department for services and expenses to be used during the 2008-2009 school year for implementation of a district Montessori school.

| September Kindergarten Registration Underway |

Kindergarten Registration for children who will be five years of age by December 1, 2008 is underway at each of the District's elementary schools. Registration is by appointment. Registration for all other grades takes place at the individual school.
